Created by the Constitution of 1988, with the dismemberment of the North area of the state of Goiás the state of Tocantins is located in a zone of transition between the Amazonian Floresta and the Closed one mixing the fauna and the flora of these two ecological systems. Cut of north to the south by two long rivers, the Tocantins and the Araguaia, present/display a fluvial beach succession and great natural wealth, with earth adapted for agriculture and the cattle ranch.
