The route of the colonization began by the coast, with the arrival of the Portuguese of the islands Goshawks, in the middle of century XVIII, sent by Portuguese Corona to consolidate the possession of the island. After them the Italians came, who settled down themselves mainly in the south and the west of the state, and, finally, the Germans, who were based to the north and the northeast, in cities like Blumenau, Vale do Itajaí and Joinville.

To know Santa Catarina is to know this mixture nationalities, that is reflected in the culture and the historical patrimony of the state. Nevertheless, 35°C in summer and the prettiest beaches, next to temperatures that get to cause snow in winter, in planalto mountain, are one of main the attractiveness for the tourists who throughout all the year visit the state.

Florianópolis, bathed by 42 beaches, Florianópolis is a gift of the nature. Located in the Island of Santa Catarina, the State Capital of Santa Catarina completes its landscape with lagoons, dunes and small islands that extend by all their coast. The superb beach waves like Joaquina, cause that the city is ideal scene for the practice of surf. Beaches with infrastructure from hotels and restaurants at the high level, as Canasvieiras and Jururé divide their beauty with rustic beaches, like Logwood, Ponta two Naufragados and Solidão.

Thus Otkoberfest was born first (reedición of the celebration that is celebrated in Munich), festival of the barrel beer that already is a tradition in the city and that it attracts many people during his 17 days of duration.
• Very next to Blumenau is Pomerode, where 90% of the population of 20,000 inhabitants speak in German. There the children only learn the Portuguese in the schools and excursions like in Germany, in cars of horses adorned with flowers become. In January the Pomerana Celebration is celebrated, where the sound of the accordions is appropriated the city and typical food of Germany can be tasted, like choucrut or stuffed duck accompanied by crude cabbage.
• Joinville, is the greater city of Santa Catarina with more than 400,000 inhabitants, industrial city, where main immigration have been German, Norwegian and Swiss. Although it is not the industrial typical city, since the existence of preserved green areas has been taken care of to a great extent, where the flowers are protagonists.  The municipality realizes from 1939 the Celebration gives to the Flowers and several tourist attractions. The most popular celebration to the German style is the Fenachopp. In July it celebrates the Festival of Dance, during 13 days, the city is a scene stops near 4,000 national dancers and international, integral of more than 140 groups of dance, fans and professionals, it is celebrated from 1983.
• São Joaquim, city located in the middle of a national park in planalto mountain, with more than 49,000 you have, that becomes a beautiful landscape during the months of June and July, when the place is snowed.
• Lages, one of the main places of the state where the rural tourism practices, with excursions to horse by secular properties.
• To the north of Florianópolis are the beaches of Enseada, Ubatuba, Velha Bar, Piçarras and those that integrate the municipality of Penha like Armação do Itapocoroy, where one of the majors is located maintenance centers and leisure of the country, Beto Carrero.

• Following in the direction of the south, are the beaches do Sonho, Pinheira, Guard do High Embaú and Pedras, and some of beaches more disputed by the surfistas: Garopaba, Rose, Imbituba and Farol of Santa Marta. Pedras High also dedicated to the Integra nudism the ecological sanctuary located in the Florestal Park gives to Serra do Tabuleiro.
