A state that was used for more than 3 centuries and including in the beginning of the colonial period like commercial warehouse. In the state of Sao Paulo:

    • More outstanding beaches of all the coast: Enseada, Cicadas, Guaecá, Great Touch-Touch, Small Touch-Touch, Maresias, Boissucanga, Camburi, Bar do Sahy and Juquehy, etc.
    • Against São Sebastião is Ilhabela, the greater Brazilian marine island, with almost 350,000 m2 of extension. Ilhabela is the ideal paradise for the practice of nautical sports. Besides being able to admire its cascades that cut to the vegetation formed by a great variety of trees and plants of the State Park of Ilhabela. They are 150 km of coasts and beaches, some still in wild state, to which it is only possible to be acceded in boat.

    • The Lagamar is a region that extends by an in line straight strip of 200 km, between the municipalities of Iguape and Cananéia, in the South coast of Sao Paulo. Considered one of the three main sets of ecosystems of the world in terms of primary productivity and one of the last regions noncontaminated of the South Atlantic, the Lagamar is formed by hundreds of the one and water obstacles that descend from the Serra do Sea and by rivers from tide, lagoons, salt marshes and an inner sea protected by islands like the one of Cardoso, the Comprida of Peças. Besides its environmental importance, the Lagamar is a frame in the history of Sao Paulo: there, the Portuguese Martim Afonso de Souza arrived in 1531, initiating the process of colonization of the state.
    • In the Lagamar is the Estadual Park gives to Ilha do Cardoso, formed by bays, I mount, openings of rivers and several islands protect that it and form, paralelamente to the continent, a set of channels bathed by a fresh and salty water mixture.
