National park of Jaú (Amazonia)
Registered in the List of Patrimonies of the Humanity in the year 2000. One is located in center of the State of Amazon, is one of the most extensive of Brazil and second of the world in continuous humid tropical forests. Created in 1986, and located between the municipalities of I novate Airão, Barcelos and Codajás, to 200 km approximately to the northwest of Manaos, takes to the name of the main river of the park. The park preserves the greater black water river basin of the world, the River basin of the Negro River. The dark color of the water has its origin in the great amount of transported organic elements and iron. Its relief enough is diversified and contains navigable areas, plains, hills, marshes, small mainland rivers and bushes. Bathed by the Rivers Black, Jaú, Carabinani, Unini, Pauini and Canauaru, the Park of Jaú also concentrates several cascades of matchless beauty.

The climate is very humid, typical of the tropical forests. The rainiest period includes/understands the months of December to April. The temperature annual average is around 24 to 26° C, with a maximum limit of 38 to 40° Cs and one minimum limit of 12 to 16° C.
The ideal period to visit is it between July and November.
Recommended visits and activities:
Stroll in Boat: to cross the water obstacles of the park in a speedboat is the best form to know and to appreciate the beauties of the region.
